I went to the mall today.  It really is a beautiful mall, big, with movie theaters with cushioned seats, and no chuck e cheeses.  I always see a million people I knew three years ago or used to be on swim team with.  I can't talk to them because I was different then and no one recognizes me. But I get stomach aches on the second floor and the escalators, and headaches from the lights.

  1. I've been in a small town for a year now, with two very small malls. Both are really quiet, and at times almost empty, so they are very different from the malls you are describing here, and the malls I'm used to. I'm sorry you get headaches and stomach aches there:(. That doesn't happen to me, but sometimes I get stressed out from the large crowds in the big malls.

  2. The mall i live near is very... dead. Whenever i come out of it i feel as though i've been robbed of something. The people inside look lifeless and bored- it's a bit like a waiting room.
I often run into people there i knew too, and it really surprises me whenever i am recognized.

  3. there are a few malls in my area which are always inhabited by creepers and are completely depressing to go into. Large spaces with very few people tend to make me feel uncomfortable.

  4. This post was written so poetically it made me hurt and feel connected with you.
I work at a mall, but I understand.
